Tallgrass’ Velvet Rooster is going the way of the dodo, but there’s a new tripel ready to take its place at Cinder Block Brewery: CB003 — a Belgian tripel that’s spicy and fruity but not too sweet (and has a kick at 10.5 percent ABV). Martin City Brewing Co. (500 East 135th Street) kicks off its anniversary week Monday, February 8, with Mr. Vacation Brandy Barrel–Aged Barleywine on tap. Look for new tappings each day starting at 11 a.m., including Shunned House Brett IPA, Fortune Royale, Dozier, Highwayman with coconut, Highwayman with cherry, Quid Feci, From Belgium with Rum, and Coffee Imperial Stout. In bottles, Mr. Vacation will be for sale in the taproom.

Beer floats in the dead of winter? Why not? Border Brewing Co. (406 East 18th Street) teams up with Shatto to put the creamery’s ice cream in the brewery’s Chocolate Milk Stout. It’s also coffee-and-beer night at the Flying Saucer (101 East 13th Street), starting at 7 with Perennial’s Sump Coffee Stout (plus a Burundi bean variant). Also on tap at the Saucer, coffee blasts with Boulevard Early Riser, Charleville Late Night Karate Kick and Torn Label’s House Brew.
Crane Brewing is throwing a meet-the-brewers party at Grain to Glass (1611 Swift Avenue, North Kansas City) from 2 to 4 p.m.
There’s a New Belgium tasting from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mike’s Wine and Spirits (21 West 63rd Street) and a Ballast Point tap takeover at Waldo Pizza (7433 Broadway) starting at 6 p.m.

Get a taste of Free State’s latest Front Porch Series beer when Frost Flower Winter Pils taps at Bier Station (120 East Gregory Boulevard) at 4 p.m. Sticking to the pilsner theme, KC Bier Co.’s UberPils also goes online.
Also: Crane Brewing puts on a tasting at 4 p.m. at the Whiskey Barrel (6516 Raytown Road, Raytown). And Rimann Liquors (15117 West 87th Street Parkway, Lenexa) hosts a Breckenridge tasting from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 6
Get Lost in the Woods at Tapcade (1701 McGee) from 6:30 to 9:30 tonight with two of New Belgium’s biggest releases of the year: La Folie (sour brown ale) and Transatlantic Kriek (wood-aged sour-cherry ale, brewed in collaboration with Oud Beersel). A $55 ticket gets you a bottle of both 2016 beers, a draft sample of both, a draft from a special one-off sour keg, snacks, a prerecorded brewery Q&A with cellar master Lauren Salazar and more. Seating is limited — only 45 people get in.
Also: Crane Brewing’s owners arrive to mingle with you at Whole Foods (14615 West 119th Street, Olathe) at 5 p.m.
Put on your kilt and get to Schlafly’s Tales and Ales at Mike’s Tavern (5424 Troost) from 1-4 p.m. Expect Scottish games and pale and scotch ales from the St. Louis brewery.

Taste Coffee Stouts tasting at Grain to Glass (1611 Swift Avenue, North Kansas City) from noon-2 p.m.
Monday, February 8
Get schooled on Free State beers at Barley’s Brewhaus (11924 West 119th Street, Overland Park) at 5 p.m. Brewmaster Steve Bradt will be on hand as you taste Barrel-Aged Cow Tippin’ Milk Stout, Ad Astra, Copperhead Pale Ale, Couldhopper Ale and John Brown English brown ale. Tickets cost $20.
Tuesday, February 9
Next Door Pizza is no more in Lee’s Summit, but its replacement, the Long-Bell Pizza Co. (3385 Southwest Fascination Drive), has moved in. Tonight at 6, Long-Bell hooks up with St. Louis’ 4 Hands Brewing Co., which is bringing a bunch of great beers — Single Speed Blonde, Ca$H Mony, Volume 1, Cuvee Diable, Absence of Light, and Apple Brandy Barrel–Aged Woodsman — to pair with food. Tickets cost $60.

Wednesday, February 10
Crane Brewing, the newest local player on the beer scene, is making the rounds. The latest stop is a tap takeover at the underrated BD’s Mongolian BBQ (19750 East Valley View Parkway, Independence) tonight at 6. Get a bowl to complement Crane’s wild ales.
